AVIS DE DÉCÈS
Cheryl Anne Alexiuk
19 octobre 1944 – 1 mai 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Cheryl Anne Alexiuk announces her passing on May 1, 2021 at General Atikokan Hospital with her family by her side. Cheryl was born on October 19, 1944 in Fort Frances, Ontario to Clifford & Maxine McRitchie. Cheryl moved to Atikokan in the late 1960's, and that is where she made a life together with Amil and raised their 5 beautiful children. Cheryl had a deep love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. She loved having her family over for meals and events, and could throw it all together in minutes! She was a proud mama and nana of her children and grandkids. Cheryl worked at the Steeprock Mines, in the early 1970's, driving a Euclid truck. The tires were way bigger then her little frame, but that didn’t stop her from being amazing at her job. Cheryl was known as our “Pink Princess”. She loved the colour pink, and really made it her own. If you’d see Cheryl out and about, she would most likely be wearing some form of pink! She was always dressed so elegantly, even if she was going to the cabin. Cheryl was such a classy lady. For the past 23 years Cheryl was blessed to be loved by a special man, Bob Shannon who adored her. Cheryl was also fortunate to have Bob’s extended family, Tyler (Cyndy) and Jordan (Callie) as part of her family and became Nana to Bob’s 5 grandchildren. Cheryl was a member of the Atikokan Ladies Auxiliary, where she spent many hours volunteering for events and helping others in need. She had many hobbies some of which include playing shuffleboard, darts, cards, boating on the lake and going to the cabin with her family. Cheryl was known for her big heart and was always willing to help anyone that needed it. She had such an amazing smile and contagious laugh that we will all miss dearly. Cheryl will be sadly missed by her 5 children; Sheri (Wes), Cindy(Chris), Nicole (David), Michelle (Brad) Amil (Raylene) and her 8 grandchildren; Taylor, Andy, David, Nathaniel, Brody, Katherine, Tia-Ray, Cora and great grandchild Tiffany. Cheryl will also be sadly missed by her 7 siblings; Marlene, Audrey(Ray), Donna (Ed), Fred (Bonnie) Valerie (John), Diana Wilson, Debbie (Dale) and numerous nieces and nephews. (Too many to mention). Cheryl was predeceased by her parents; Clifford & Maxine McRitchie, Amil Alexiuk Senior, her son in law Rob Veran, brother in laws; Rodney McGauley and Ray Wilson, and sister in law; Connie McRitchie. This wonderful lady will leave a hole in our hearts and will be loved, missed and forever remembered.
