A bright light has been lost to this world. Cheryl was bright, intelligent, witty and oh so resilient. But most of all she was an amazingly creative mom. My heart goes out to you John and your four precious daughters. My thoughts and prayers are with you. C.

It is so hard to write these words about such a loving devoted mother and wife. Creative, intelligent, witty and insiteful. The world is dimmer.

My heart aches and breaks at the loss of a wonderful friend. I have looked at your photos over and over and every time, I cry and yet I laugh at the same time. Your smile was infectious, your attitude positive and your beauty shines like the celestial stars you adored. It takes a strong person to adopt 3 children and raise them as your own. You live life to the fullest and encouraged others to do the same. Family meant everything to you. I remembered when your sister Julia was born and we used to parade her around, showing her off to anyone that would pay attention to us on Hemlock Street. Hemlock Street witnessed us blowing bubbles, riding bikes, jumping rope, making prank phone calls on your cool see through phone, chasing boys at the Hemlock school, your dance lessons and oh so many memories I shall cherish. With all the condolences you have received, this displays what a great person you were and how much you are loved and will be missed. Your family needs you to be their angel now. You loved celestial stars, now you are one. Rest In Paradise my dear friend.

Cheryl's smile could light up a room -- it's what I remember most about her. My condolences go out to John and her girls.

I first met Cheryl when she was 12 when I made my first trip to Atikokan. She was a loving a great spirited young girl and laughed so hard when her Cat had me locked in the basement bedroom after the family all left house to go out for breakfast. She will be greatly missed by me, her uncle Rick, cousin's Grant, Katelyn and Marc. Pattie Olson- Yurchuk Aunt ( North Bay, Ontario)

I went to school with Cheryl in Atikokan. I have great memories of having sleepovers at her house in her cool basement bedroom after which I would go home with a puffy face from snuggling her cuddly cat(poor Jan had no clue I was allergic!) and fun trips to her family camp at Kawene. Tara and Cheryl were key players in organizing our High School yearbook and did a fantastic job. Congratulations on Katrina's arrival-as a mom I know the deep yearning of wanting to do anything on earth for your kids despite the consequences. Katrina will grow up and look to the sky knowing that her mom is the brightest star shining down on her and guiding her through life. Some day you will meet again and be in each other's arms. Each of us shall hug our own children tighter now and appreciate life more.
