

Donald Leonard ‘Squeak” Jourdain, age 65, of Couchiching First Nation, Ontario passed away at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre in Thunder Bay, Ontario on Sunday, November 18, 2012.
He was born on December 23, 1946 in Fort Frances, Ontario to the late Leonard and Kathleen Jourdain. Donald was raised in Couchiching First Nation, and had worked as a guide for many tourist business’s including Cascade Camp, and Camp Manitou. Over the years, he also worked as a Fire Fighter for the M.N.R., and was a volunteer fire fighter for Couchiching First Nation. Donald was also well known for his carpentry skills at home and in the community. He was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed watching the Lakers and the Muskies. He also enjoyed playing guitar, and always had music playing. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Couchiching First Nation. Donald’s life revolved around his family and friends, and he will be missed by them.
Donald leaves behind three sisters, Beverly Shebagegit of Nestor Falls, ON., Eileen Jourdain and Jackie Jourdain both of Couchiching First Nation, ON.; one brother, Craig (Audrey) Jourdain of Rainy River First Nation, ON., one brother-in-law, Jim Walton of Fort Frances, ON.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Leslie Jourdain, one sister, Joyce Walton, and one brother-in-law, Joe Shebagegit.
Family and friends may visit Friday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ontario. Parish prayers will be offered at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ontario with Reverend Mr. Bob Grynol officiating.
Cremation will take place at Rainy River Cremation Services in International Falls, Minnesota.
Active pallbearers will be Lynn Shebagegit, Brian Shebagegit, Richard Walton, Aaron Jourdain, Jordan Walton and Chris Shebagegit.
Honourary pallbearers will be Eugene McPherson, Chuck McPherson, J.R. Shebagegit, Wayne Yerxa, Al Calder, Dennis Perreault, Gilbert Perreault, Robert Perreault, Justin Hamilton, Eric Anderson and Brian Godin.
