Evelyn Gladys Sandmoen

Evelyn was born on December 12, 1926 in Mankota, Saskatchewan to Jacob and Madeline (Lena) Miller. She moved to Rainy River at the age of 13 and later to Fort Frances. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Sandmoen on September 20, 1946. She was blessed with 3 daughters and settled into her role of wife and mother. . Evelyn and Lloyd enjoyed many days at the cottage with family. She enjoyed being with her family, spending time on puzzles and knitting; She knit many mittens, scarfs and afghans for family over the years. She had a ferocious love of word puzzles and reading.

She leaves to mourn her daughters Joan Anderson, Joyce Casement and Sandra (Jim) Dawson; granddaughters Kelly, Kerri, Tammie and Tara; great grandson Colby; sisters Susan Sandmoen and Irene Prinz; brothers Richard and Elmer (Brigette) Miller; niece Bev Sandmoen as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Lena; husband Lloyd and brothers Jack and Lloyd.

At Evelyn’s request cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
