

She was born on May 31, 1964 in Fort Frances to Mabel and Edward Smith. As a young woman she worked for the Naicatchewenin First Nation Band before moving to Thunder Bay. She appreciated the time she spent with her family as well as playing sports. She enjoyed her time in Thunder Bay especially her years with Richard. She was strong willed and had a great sense of humour.
Gladys leaves behind her children Vivian (Dylan) Simard, Carrie Johnson, Jeremy Johnson (Toni Collins) and Lauralee Johnson; grandchildren Kailey, Logan, and Mason Simard, Keyshawn, Shylar and Colton Fairbanks; Angel Medicine, Jorja and Aleena Johnson and Kaiya Boorman; sisters Janice Smith, Gloria L. Johnson and Elsie Wesley; brother Steve Johnson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents; sisters Angie Chosa and Rose Smith and brother Elvis Smith.
A visitation will be held on Friday January 3, 2014 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home with Father Victor DeGagne officiating. Cremation will take place following the service.
