It is with great sadness that the family of Kaytilyn Marie Black announces her passing on Thursday December 17, 2020 in Naicatchewenin First Nation, Ontario.
She was born on July 27, 1994 to Debra and Bruce Black. She lived in Naicatchewenin First Nation all her life. She graduated from the Fort Frances High School in 2017. She worked at New Gold as a Housekeeper, Walmart as a Cashier, and had been working as store keeper for the community. She loved spending time with her family and friends as well as attending concerts and Pow wows. She especially enjoyed her time with her children.
Kaytilyn leaves behind her parents Bruce Black and Debra (Carl) Jamieson; son Damien Johns and his father Brennen; daughter Luna Mary Kennedy Morrisseau; son Liam Alfred Black and their father Kenneth Morrisseau; siblings Erin Smith (Jon Mandamin), Eric Black, Delano Black (Darcelle), Destinee Black (John), Matt Smith (Brooklyn) and Missy Smith (Mike); Aunts Ann McGinnis and Jane Councillor; uncles Dennis Black and Robert Smith as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by her family by choice Jack and Louella Kellar and their family.
She was predeceased by her sister Nicole Black; grandparents John and Mae Black and Alfred and Mary Smith; uncles Darryl Smith, Brad Black and Harry Windego; aunts Brenda Black and Elizabeth Windego and brother by choice Joe Kellar.
A traditional wake and ceremony was held on Thursday December 24, 2020 at the Naicatchewenin First Nation Community.
The pallbearers were Nathaniel Councillor, Jonathon Mandamin, Ted Green, Robert (Bob) Morrison, Jon Smith, Larry McGinnis, Jake Kellar and Blake Kellar.
The honourary pallbearers were Jasmine (Brown) Smith, Tamika-Jo Andy, Candace (Henn) Smith, Laura-Lee Johnson, Haley Councillor, Kennedy Kellar and Kyle Kellar.
