Madeleine Lucy Lindberg was born on June 16, 1941 to Nellie (Hill) and Amedeè Cleroux in Montreal, Que.
Predeceased by her mother at the age of four, she and her brother, Philippe, moved to Crozier, Ont. to live with their grandparents, Lucy and Samuel Hill.
Madeleine first worked in finance companies in Fort Frances, then returned to school and obtained her RPN degree. She worked at La Verendrye Hospital for 20 years, where she enjoyed taking care of her patients.
Madeleine was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and St. Mary's C.W.L. She also was a member of the Order of Royal Purple Lodge and had served in many capacities, as well as an “Honorable Royal Lady,” continuing to meet with past members monthly for a luncheon.
She truly enjoyed these dates with the ladies, especially her best friends, Amy Wreggitt and Marcia Shute.
Madeleine also was an avid bowler and curler throughout the years even while raising her three very active sons, Martin Lindberg of Fort Frances, Ont., Christopher Lindberg of Calgary, Alta., and Timothy (Sherrie) Lindberg of Calgary, Alta.
Her reward for all of her parenting skills was the treasure of her grandchildren, who she cherished, Brent Lindberg, Olivia Lindberg, and Cooper Lindberg, and Hunter Lindberg.
Madeleine also is survived by her brother, Philippe Cleroux, his wife, Betty, niece, Mary Ellen, and nephew, Jay Cleroux.
Madeleine was predeceased by her parents, Nellie and Amedeè Cleroux; and the father of her children, Gus Lindberg.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a family celebration of her life sometime in the future.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Riverside Foundation for Health Care (La Verendrye Hospital) would be appreciated.
