

Margaret was born in Rainy River to James and Josephine (nee Godin) McLeod on April 1, 1914. She was united in marriage to Ted Gladu on May 4, 1933 and together they raised 8 children. Margaret enjoyed gardening; was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and a member of the St. Marguerite D’Youville Association and had been a frequent visitor to the Sister Kennedy Centre to visit friends and play cards.
She lost her mother in 1920 in the Spanish Flu epidemic and her father in 1963; her husband Ted in 1983. He was predeceased by her daughters Yvonne Gladu in 1967; brother Edward (Agnes) McLeod in 1976; sister Isabelle (Rufus) Allan in 1984; grandson Jim Poirier in 1991; sister Nellie (George) Tucker in 1992 and daughter Mae Armstrong in 2009.
Margaret is survived by her brother Jim (Jane) McLeod of Fort Frances; her children Joan (James) Marchand of Langley BC, Jim (Barb) Gladu of Thunder Bay, Fred (Sonny) Gladu of Victoria, Nancy (Leonard) Noonan of Fort Frances, Ray (Randi) Gladu of Fort Frances, Lorraine (Rod) Cupp of Blackhawk, ON, Yvette (Marcel Russel) Adams of Quesnel, BC, and Joe (Annie) Gladu of Winnipeg, MB; grandchildren Patricia (Bill) Knight, Nancy and Vicki Poirier, Brenda (Mike) Gibson, Mike (Lori) Gladu, Donna (Don) Bone, Pamela (Mike) Lesniewski, Carrie Legasse, Michelle Gladu, Theresa (Howard) and Yvonne (Bill) Noonan, Stephan Gladu, Brandon Legarrie; Alex (Rick) Kucera, Toni (Wayne) Cupp, Aurora (James) Doerksen, Daniel (Alexis), Rachel, Lucas and Nicholas Gladu; great grandchildren Mercede, Taylor, Ted, Carol, Jason (Teresa), Jimmy, Jason, Amanda, Dylan, Geena, Tatjana, Rejean, Samantha, Tyson, Nikita (James), Lisa, Karina, Keanna, Taylor, Shay, Jared, Nicholas and Wellington as well as several great great grandchildren and many dear cousins, nieces and nephews.
Prayer services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
Funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, Ontario with Father Victor DeGagne officiating.
Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Jim Gladu, Fred Gladu, Leonard Noonan, Rod Cupp and James Marchand.
