

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alexis Lynne Zarbatany, 40, of North Miami Beach, who left us unexpectedly on February 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with an extremely aggressive metastatic cancer. Alexis was born in Miami on April 4, 1984, to Steven Zarbatany and Kris Dougherty. She attended Miami Country Day School and Florida International University.
Alexis was a dedicated office and account manager at her mother’s CPA firm, where she worked with diligence and care. Beyond her professional life, Alexis was a talented artist. She expressed her creativity through sculpting, painting, and creating exquisite jewelry and beaded glassware art. Her artistic works reflected her vibrant spirit and unique vision.
Alexis had a profound love for animals and people alike. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she was known for her selflessness, always extending a helping hand to those less fortunate. Her kindness and generosity touched many lives, and her legacy of love and empathy will continue to inspire us.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Alexis is survived by her parents, Steven Zarbatany and Kris Dougherty, and their spouses, Anita and Roger; her siblings, Eric, Matt, Tyler and spouse Peyton.; her aunts and uncles, Karen, Patrica, Nicole, Paulette, Cindra, Jeffrey, and Earl; her niece Eleni Rose; her cousins Jeffrey, Kristin, Melanie and their spouses Carlene, Jonah, and John. She will also be missed by many other relatives, Jason, and close friends.
The family of Alexis wishes to extend our sincere heartfelt thanks to Dr. Syed Hashmi, Dr. Eric Rishe, Dr. Ariel Caplan, Dr. Raciel Pintado and ICU nurse Ebony along with the other doctors, nurse practitioners, and nurses at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood that took care of Alexis.
A memorial service will be held on February 10, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 2401 Davie Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. The Visitation will commence at 11:00 AM, the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, the Committal Service at 2:00 PM followed by the repass.
