

Alice Devlin was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey to James Devlin and Paula Lorenz on September 28, 1935. In 1954 Alice graduated from Eastside High School in Paterson, New Jersey. She took Donald William Soja as her husband on September 3, 1955 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Paterson, New Jersey.
In Florida, she graduated from Broward County Vocational & Technical School in 1974, completing 240 hours in the Unit Clerk Program. In New Jersey she worked in photography, newspaper proofreader, book-keeper, and later as a key punch typist. The longest position she held was as the switch board operator at University Community Hospital in Tamarac Florida.
Alice was proud to have volunteered with the United States Air Force Auxiliary, with the Civil Air Patrol.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Allison Soja, and two grandsons Adam Soja and Beau Devlin.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Janet Carlson and her two sons, James Devlin and Edward Soja. She has six grandchildren: Jessica Smith, Rebecca Mutz, Gabrielle Ostman, Bryant Devlin, Shea Devlin and Tiffany Cline, She is grateful to have known her great-grandchildren: Kadence Griffin, Karyn Smith, Kaleesi Smith, Beau Mutz, Wyatt Mutz, Sullivan Devlin, Maeve Devlin and Findley Cline.
She will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre in Totowa New Jersey surrounded by her father, grandparents and a number of Irish aunts and uncles. Arrangements are by Dignity Memorial
