Arnaud Blanchard

Arnaud Blanchard was born on the 24th of February 1921 in the city of Baraderes, Haiti, He was the son of Mr Montilus Blanchard and Mrs Montilia Desir. He completed his basic studies at his native city of Baraderes. At the age of 20 he enrolled in the military services of Haiti. He served his country for 21 years. he met the love of his life during his years of service in the person of Lorvana Papillon. From their union were born eleven children of which nine survived. Jacqueline, Ernst, Serge, Jean, Smith, Robert, Junie, Arnoux and Lorna Blanchard. He also fathered four other children, Ginette Franck, Jean Claude, Blanchet and Nicole Blanchard.

In 1962 he left Haiti and moved to the United States of America. Step by step he brought his children in . He lived in Brooklyn, New York and worked at the Custodial and Maintenance Department of a Jewish Temple until his retirement in 1991. His children gave him many grandchildren. McKenley, Ronald and Rony Bastien; Alex and Stephanie Blanchard; Daniel and Louisa Blanchard, Rosalyne Antenor, Edith Klebert, Emmanuel Sylvain, Regine, Nathan and Gael Blanchard, Sargine, Marva and Christina Blanchard, Sean, Brian and Michael Blanchard, Stephen, Sarah and Samuel Blanchard, Rebeccah Blanchard, Kevin and Narclary Voltaire, Arns and Kaylee Blanchard, Jade Jamie and Sara Dautruche.

His great grandchildren are Briana, Kenia and Narceem Antenor, Emily and Ethan Klebert. Sons and daughters in law are Harry Voltaire, Bernard Dautruche, Karen Gillett Blanchard, Isbelia Perez Blanchard, Venise Blanchard, Margarette Debrosse Blanchard.

He enjoyed a good long life. In the last few months his health took a turn for the worse. He received medical care and finally on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 5:00 am he took his last breath in the presence of loved ones. His family, friends are grieving his death and will keep the memory of his love, devotion and goodness. Peace and rest to his soul.
