It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ayinde I Bilal I Chiki I Gooden Stanley. On August 21, 2024, the world lost a shining light, and heaven gained a cherished soul. Born on November 3, 1978 in Miami, Florida, Ayinde was always asking questions (often paired with a mischievous grin) and open to new possibilities. His journey on this earth was marked by kindness, wisdom, a deep thirst for knowledge and a boundless love that touched and inspired the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ayinde was known for his booming voice, boisterous laugh, and in more recent years, numerous brightly coloured hair changes. Those were physical markers of what we all know to be true–he was a man with a strong sense of self, who carved out and walked his own path in life. In other words, he did it his way. Though Ayinde’s physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will forever dwell in the hearts of those who loved him. He was preceded (and we like to think, welcomed warmly to the glory of Heaven) by: grandparents Zeana DeSouza, Maurice Gooden, Grandma Tweet, Aunt Icy, Aunt Jackie, Aunt Olga, Uncle Errol, Miss Polly & Poppa Lyons. He is survived by his grandmother Hyacinth Mulgrave, parents Anzea Gooden and Mark Anthony Stanley, step-mother Jessica Stanley, siblings Zoan, Marcus, Pasha (Gary), Matthew (Jasmine), Jahkata, Adriana, Janaye (Kenoi), Anthony, Selena (Ryan), Marcela & Daniela, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Though Ayinde did not have children, his nieces and nephews (Jaiden, Kai, Brooke, Bailey, Mitchell, Marshall, Jianni, Journi, Ma’Liyah, Mariyah & Eva) were the lights of his life. To those who grieve alongside us, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your thoughts, prayers, and words of comfort have been a balm to our spirits during this time of sorrow. In the quiet moments, we have felt your love lift us, guiding us through the depths of our grief. Ayinde will be remembered by us all with smiles and laughter, recalling the joy that he brought into our lives. May his soul find eternal peace and may we all be comforted by the memories we hold dear. With profound love and appreciation, The Gooden & Stanley Families
