

Cathleen “Kay” Sullivan, 90, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2012. Born in Beverly, Massachusetts, she moved with her family to Miami after attending Bryant Business School in Boston. She worked for the Civil Aeronautics Administration and then, after a divorce, had a long successful career as executive assistant with Hiram Walker, Inc. retiring in 1986. She continued to work part time for Police Benevolent Association in Miami until moving to Broward County in 1993, where she lived and served on the board of directors at Jacaranda Heights in Plantation. For the last 5 years, she resided at Hyatt Residence in Plantation and recently, was cared for at Covenant Village in Plantation. She is survived by her only child Colleen (Fred) Cianelli of Davie, granddaughters Meghan and Brittany, sisters Anna Marsh and Geraldine Vessely and more than 50 nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews of the Marsh, Gillette, DiGregory, Ryan, Hooker, Baum, Woods, Schomberg and Sullivan families, as well as Frances, Alfred, David, Terri and Dane Cianelli. She was preceded in death by her brothers Warren and Arthur, sister Eileen Hooker, brothers in law Jack Vessely and James Marsh, and her parents Margherita and Arthur Sullivan.
A celebration of her long life will be held in funeral Mass at St. David Catholic Church in Davie on June 11 at 10:00 am.
