

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Cecil Ramdhar, of Toronto, Ontario, who departed this life peacefully on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, at 2:01pm, at his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, surrounded by his beloved wife, daughters, and grandchildren.
Cecil was a man of strength, honor, and unwavering integrity. He lived his life with quiet dignity, kindness, and an open heart, offering love, guidance, and laughter to all who knew him. His ready smile, gentle humor, and steadfast support touched the lives of friends and family alike, leaving an everlasting mark on their hearts.
Born in Nabaclis, Guyana on April 23rd, 1945, Cecil built a life grounded in devotion to his family and community. He was a loving husband, a supportive father, and a grandfather whose heart overflowed with pride and love. His values, work ethic, and kindness will live on through the generations.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Sumintra and Haripaul, and his siblings Data, Premendas, Ramo, and Suruj.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Toolia; his daughters, Deborah Coombs and Nandanie Haugland; his son-in-law, Geir Haugland; his former son-in-law, Richard Coombs; his cherished grandchildren, Benjamin Fredrik Werner Loy, Hannah Francesca Nia Coombs, and Sebastian Noah Haugland; his brothers, Heralall (Babalo) and Lall; and his sister, Mumzie. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends whose lives he enriched.
All who knew and loved Cecil are welcome to attend and commemorate the life of “Baffie, Buddy Cecil, Uncle C”.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15th, 2025, at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home in Fort Lauderdale, followed by cremation at the Taft Location. Final Hindu Rites will be officiated by Pandit Khemraj Singh and performed by Cecil’s grandchildren honoring tradition and guiding his soul to eternal peace.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Ryan LaMarca, Cecil’s Nephrologist, who gave us 3 additional precious months with him, and to his Lake Ridge neighborhood “Friends of Cecil” community for all their friendship, love and support.
