

She was born in South Amherst Ohio on January 14, 1931. Her parents were Clyde Heussner and Mary Jane Walker. She was the youngest of four children, she had a brother Ralph Clyde Heussner and two sisters, Florence Woellert and Marion Innes. She spent her entire childhood in South Amherst until she graduated from South Amherst High School in 1949. At this time she was awarded a five-year academic scholarship to the Ohio State University for their nursing program.
While attending OSU she was nominated as May Queen and made first runner up, she also was involved in many organizations and became Supervisor of the Psychiatric Ward at Ohio State University. She graduated in 1954 with her Bachelor of Science degree as an R.N , specializing in psychiatric nursing. At this time she moved back to the Cleveland area where she had family. She practiced and taught nursing there for the next two years. In 1957 she married and moved to Toledo Ohio where she had three children , Danny, Diane and David Endrizal.
For the next 20 years Darlene was extremely active in her community , raising money for many charitable organizations. She eventually divorced and moved to south Florida to be by family. She went back into nursing and worked as an RN at Northridge Hospital. After a few years she married Robert Spence and spent the next 38 years working side-by-side with him . They started several new business adventures together and were blessed with great success! Darlene had a wonderful life with Robert and her family, enjoying many vacations together. Her favorite place was at The Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo where she spent many weekends.
Darlene died at the Imperial Point hospital with several family members at her side, David , Diane , Anthony (grandson), her nephews Jim Innes , and Ralph Heussner Jr. (She was very close to both of them) , along with many other family members who were very supportive during this difficult time!
Darlene is survived by her daughter Diane Bruni, and sons David Endrizal and Danny Endrizal . Also her stepchildren Laurie (Bill) Hahn, Michael (Lisa)Spence and Patrick (Kelly) Spence, and her grandchildren , Kevin and Jackie Spence, Lindsey and Kelly Hahn , Bailey Spence and Anthony Bruni. Darlene will be missed by so many! She was a wonderful mother , Mimi, and a great friend to so many!
Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 21 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home South at 2401 Davie Rd. Davie, Florida 33317
Visitation will be between 1 to 3 and a service from 3 pm to 4 pm.
Her cremains were innured at Forest lawn Cemetery South where she will rest in peace next to her beloved husband Robert!
