Dominick (Dom) Charles Bizzarro (84) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026. He was born in Watertown, CT in 1941 to Ralph and Jennie Bizzarro. He grew up in Troy, NY, along with his sisters, Philomena and Rachel.
Dom enjoyed cooking for others and had an extensive career in the food service industry, working for companies such as Howard Johnson’s and Wag’s. He owned and operated his own breakfast, lunch, and catering business for several years. His true joy came during the last twenty plus years of his professional career when he started and ran the school lunch program at St. Coleman Catholic School. He enjoyed seeing the smiling faces of the children at lunchtime each day, and he always prepared their food with love. He especially loved talking with the middle school boys who would discuss all the sports they both loved.
Dom also was integral to the success of the St. Coleman Italian Festival for over thirty-five years. He prepared thousands of gallons of his famous sauce and cooked an immeasurable number of meatballs, stuffed shells, and sausage. He was always in the kitchen working to benefit others in his beloved St. Coleman church and school community. He was an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist joyfully distributing communion at St. Coleman Church. He was an active member of the Men’s Club of the church and enjoyed those Monday night meetings with his friends and fellow parishioners, especially during March Madness.
Dom was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Giants, and Knicks. He enjoyed playing golf, and you could always count on him to make a few putts during the Men’s Club Golf Tournament.
Dom lived a life of service to others and was known as a great listener.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Jennie Bizzarro, and his sister Philomena Moscatello. He is survived by his wife, Angela Bizzarro and his children Deborah (Ted) Bujalski of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Dominick (Elizabeth) Bizzarro of Saratoga Springs, NY; and Ralph (Shannon) Bizzarro of Holly Springs, NC; his grandchildren, Justin, Victoria, Jacqueline, Alexis, Madison, Teddy, Leanne, Olivia, Luciano; and his great grandchildren, Julianna, Nikole, Bryce, Jordan, Charlotte, Kaden, and Clover. He is also survived by his sister, Rachel (Greg) Yamin of Latham, NY, and his nieces and nephews whom he loved with all his heart.
