Fitzbert Brown

Fitzbert was born on May 10, 1937 in Rock River in the Parish of Clarendon Jamaica. He was raised by his loving Grandmother and aunts after his parents Harold and Celina passed while he was at a young age.

While living in Jamaica Fitz worked as a transportation driver, Mechanic, and at one point had also studied to become a teacher.

Fitz married his wife Freda and the family migrated to the USA where they settled in Philadelphia.

He worked for the International Envelope Company and was also skilled in plumbing, general maintenance & repair and was always willing to help anyone who was in need.

Fitz gave his life to Christ in the early 1980’s and was the most faithful and devoted servant who was very active in the church. He served on the church board, participated in several ministries (including Outreach), and was a Deacon and advisor to many.

Fitz truly loved the lord and was always ready to offer a prayer, a word of comfort or encouragement to friends, family and even those he did not know.

Fitz and wife Freda moved to Florida in 1991 and continued to be active in the church while acquiring dear friends in the community.

He enjoyed reading (especially his bible which he did daily), listening to gospel music, playing his guitar and was ready to give you his favorite CD if you just said that was a nice song.

Fitz lived his life in the true embodiment of the Fruits of the Holy Spirit (from Galatians 5) love, Joy, Peace, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Forbearance and Self-Control, which sums up the visible attributes of a true Christian life and the fruits born by those trees which righteous men are compared to.

Fitz is survived by his Wife Elfrasa, Children: Errol; Melissa; Juliet; Jena; Gerville; Alford; Athleen; 12 grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren, in-laws, Aunts, cousins and many friends.

Fitz will be greatly missed by all…..RIP

A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 18 2012 1:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens South. Visitation will be held on Friday February 17, from 6:00-9:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens South Ft. Lauderdale Fl.
