Fred Fleming was born April 8, 1932 in Belle Vernon Pennsylvania to David and Velma Jones. He had a sister Jeanne (predeceased) and they lived most of their years in Charleroi, Pa. Growing up, he played many sports and excelled in them, baseball, basketball, football and tennis. He also played the French horn in his school band as well as acting in a few plays. He often spoke of his uncles and aunts and how they would all vacation together, a tradition he carried over to our family. He attended California College of Pennsylvania and lettered in the most sports of any athlete, a record that still remains to this day. He was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1997. He married Norma Molinaro in 1954 and they enjoyed 50 years of a beautiful marriage until she passed away in 2002. For 17 years he has written her love letters for every special occasion and stored them in a special box. His three children Laurie(Pike), Carrie(Bruce) and Scott(Leslie) were so blessed to have a father with such integrity, honesty, wisdom and strength. We knew he always had our back and was a rock of strength for us all. He was such an example to his grandchildren Brett, Carrie, Cameron, Connor, Christian, Brandon, Kyle and Jordan and to great-grandchildren Carter, Lila and Indiana. He was close with his sister-in-law Joanna Thomas(Joe) and niece Norma(Hal) and nephew Mark(Monica) and great niece Micheala. He had a very special place in his heart for his niece in Pennsylvania Carleen(Barry) and spoke with her often asking about all the family there. He also had a great affection for his wonderful, caring neighbors on Coral Ridge Drive and spoke of them like family. He loved them and the times they visited on his swing in the front yard. He was many things, a husband, a father, an uncle, a grandpa and great grandpa, a counselor, a friend, a teacher, a coach. But most of all he was the best of what a human being can be, someone who cared and loved. We will miss him dearly. Love you forever.
