Gabe was born and raised in Puerto Rico and left there as a teenager to explore, travel and live the American dream. Gabe resided in Okeechobee FL for 13 years while working as a welder for Waste Management. He worked for Waste Management for 17 years before retiring in Pompano Beach FL.
Gabe is survived by his previous wife Mildred Colon-Castellano who resides in Broward County FL, 8 children who he raised, loved and cherished: Angie Pitt, Alice (Cody) Carpenter, Melissa (Richard) Dailey, Manny (Kiki) Sepulveda, Sharon Colon, Ronica (Abraham) Escamilla, Christopher Colon, Tonya Colon and 18 grandchildren who he adored.
Gabe's birth family remains in Puerto Rico. Gabe loved animals, gardening and his infamous Western Attire!! He was the sweetest, kindest most gentle soul ever and he will be remembered with love.
The family will be holding a private family memorial later this month.
