Randy was born July 27, 1956 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Merle Duane Brooks and Jewel Marie Buchanan Brooks.
Randy graduated from College Park High School in Atlanta Georgia in1974 and graduated from Georgia State University in 1978, earning a degree in accounting.
Randy joined the United States Navy, serving four years. until honorably discharged.
He is survived by his brother, William Worley Brooks and wife Teresa Cornett Brooks of Fairview, North Carolina as well as many special friends he made throughout the years
Randy will be remembered by his neighbors at the River Shores condomonium community for his concern and volunteer work there, his friendly demeanor and kind curosity, the joy he found in lively political discussion, his loyal friendships and a really strong sweet tooth. Perhaps most of all, Randy loved time to tease and talk with his "kids", Leo and Lucy.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
