Jean Vincent

Visitation will take place at 10 am, Friday June 30, 2023 at Saint Gregory Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday June 30, 2023 at Saint Gregory Catholic Church with. Burial will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven. Arrangements are by Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Jean was born in Jérémie Haiti to Melise T. Vincent and Victor Vincent on December 30, 1938. He went to Catholic school during his early childhood in Port Au Prince, Haiti. His formative middle and high school years were spent at Lyce Petion in Port Au Prince. He went on to graduate from Law School University of Haiti. He also earned a degree in Public Administration in Buenos Aires Argentina. While in Haiti, Jean worked for the Department of Generale Des Impots. Jean married Myreille Vincent on September 26, 1966 in Port Au Prince.

Jean and his wife emigrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1969. While in New York he worked at Metropolitan Hospital as a Counselor for Family Planing. Jean and his wife later moved to Miami Florida in 1980. While in Florida, Jean worked as an Account Representative and Administrator for Jackson Memorial in Miami for twenty-five years. Jackson Memorial honored Jean with an award recognizing his loyal and dedicated service. In addition to his time at Jackson Memorial, Jean gave back to his community by teaching the English lanuage to Haitian immigrants.

Jean is preceded in death by his son Gregory Vincent, his parents Melise T. Vincent and Victor Vincent and cousin Dr. Timoleon Toussaint. Jean is survived by his spouse Myreille Salomon Vincent, son Henry Robert Vincent, his grandchildren Mathew Vincent, Ashley Vincent, Chad Vincent and Darnell Vincent and cousins George Toussaint, Adrienne Toussaint, Germaine Toussaint, Nicole Philotech and Eliane Philotech. The family of Jean Vincent wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Yolanda Jules, Anthony Jules, Rose Saul and Marjorie Binette-Edwards.
