

Jeanann Testyon, 91, died peacefully in her sleep on November 10, 2025 in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Born September 16, 1934 in Stratford (Northeast Hope), Ontario, Canada she moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1972 with her husband, Fred and three daughters to own and operate the Anchor Motel, which she did very successfully until its sale in 1982. She stayed in the hospitality industry working for several years at two hotels on Fort Lauderdale Beach managing Casa Glamaretta and later the original Pelican Beach Resort.
Next, working as a chef, she joined her husband Richard, who was a captain on a private yacht. They spent many happy hours on the water until his untimely death in 2004. It was his death that led her to be a volunteer, a calling she quite enjoyed, in the Hospice unit at Broward General Medical Center until her retirement in 2018.
She was predeceased by her husband, Captain Richard Testyon (2004); parents William and Neola Makins, sister Julia and brother Billy. She is survived by her sister, Mary Carnie; her children: Charlene Goodwin, Colleen Holmes, Cheryl McTyre (Shawn), Richard Testyon (Dawn), Kathy Testyon, David Testyon (Kathy) and Danny Testyon (Michelle). Her grandchildren Brodie and Violet McTyre, Cassie and David Tesyton, Taylor Keller and Daniel Holmes. Along with lots of nieces and nephews in Canada.
She was a proud member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Fort Lauderdale. A member of the Welcome Ministry where she loved giving out hugs on Sunday’s and welcoming parishioners to service. Her service will be on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 11am at All Saints Episcopal Church, 333 Tarpon Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Fl.
She will be laid to rest at Avondale Cemetery in Stratford, Ontario with her late husband and family.
