Jeanenne Carol Alger, age 83, passed away after a brief illness, surrounded by loving family, on Sunday, March 28, 2021 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Jeanenne is survived by her husband of 34 years, Ronald D. Alger, and her brother Ken Shaffer (Sheri) of North Carolina, as well as her daughter Lynn Lonnett (Anthony) of Ivins, UT, son William Horter, Jr. (Beckie), of New Brighton, PA, son Daniel Horter (George Hawes) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, son John Horter of New Brighton, PA, son Tom Horter (Cindi) of Ft. Wayne, IN, and daughter Karen Fleming (Michael) of Winchester, VA. She had many grandchildren, Eric, Serena, Abigail, Andy, Jordan, Lexi, Maddie, Rachel, Mary, Morgan, Kennedy, Lauren and Jimmy, and two great-grandchildren Lilliana and Tessa.
Jeanenne was born in Beaver, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Laurena Shaffer, and beloved brother Wayne Shaffer (Shirley) of Pennsylvania. She was a homemaker and established a degree in Medical Transcription. Jeanenne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (Gram), great grandmother and friend who was full of laughter and words of wisdom. “Love each other” was her final message to her children. Jeanenne loved anything to do with nature and could find beauty in any outdoor space. Her flowers and gardens were impeccable. Butterflies, spiders, hummingbirds and frogs flocked to her, finding refuge in her presence.
Our “Queen Jeanenne” will be dearly missed. She will surely be busy in Heaven, surrounding herself with everything pink, and rocking babies. Private viewing and internment will be held in Florida and Pennsylvania. Memorial donations can be made to McGuire Memorial, New Brighton, PA.
