John R Darby

John was a member of the Canal Zone Police from 1975-1982 and then he joined the Customs Border Protection where he served from 1982 until he retired in 2008. He was a man of faith and devoted Catholic. He enjoyed reading, playing guitar, fishing and watching sports, especially watching his grandchildren play soccer and dance. He was passionate about history and geography and could answer many questions on jeopardy. He was looking forward to his new home and life in Palm Coast but he was called home to a bigger and better castle in heaven with our Lord.

John was a devoted husband of 46 years to Zully Darby. Dear father to Monica Asorey (Daniel) and Nicole Ramirez (Armando). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Danica, Alaina, Ashlyn, Logan and Brianna. John is survived by his mother Melba Hill (Gary) and predeceased by his father Jack Darby.

Visitation will be conducted at Broward Burial and Cremation, 1801 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306 on Tuesday December 3, 2024 from 5-8 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 9950 NW 29 Street, Coral Springs, FL 33065 on Wednesday December 4, 22024 at 11:30 AM.
