

Jorge was born in Utuado to Dolores and Ana Soto on November 23, 1947. He grew up in Puerto Rico but later moved to New York City where he met, and married, his wife, Noemi and began to raise his growing family while helping to support his own mother Ana along with his siblings. Before marrying Noemi, at 18 he was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. While raising his family in Brooklyn New York he was hired by the New York City Transit Authority where he held various positions and after 25 years retired as a Collection Agent. In retirement, he and Noemi moved to Florida where he enjoyed his lifelong passion of growing plants, fruits, and vegetables, a skill and love he acquired as a young child from his parents in Utuado Puerto Rico. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his growing list of grandchildren.
Jorge is preceded in death by his son Edwin and his grandson Christopher. His parents Dolores and Ana. His siblings Alberto, Victor, Irma, Abraham, Ivan, Aurora, and Tito.
Jorge is survived by his wife, Noemi, his daughter, Lori, sons Sam, Jorge, and Milton. His grandchildren Adrian, Mia, Miles, Camila, Benjamin, and Eleanor. His siblings Milagros, Mari, and Pito as well as his many loved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 1 pm Friday March 15, 2024 with Funeral Services to follow at 2 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Gardens in Fort Lauderdale Florida.
