

Kimberly Ann Quijano, 65, of Davie, passed away peacefully in her home on March 24, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. She was an incredibly strong and courageous woman who bravely fought cancer for over three decades. Despite her health struggles, Kim remained tender hearted, sweet, and optimistic. She was a precious soul who blessed everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kimberly Ann Fortnash was born in North Miami, FL to Natalie & John Fortnash on May 4, 1958. She graduated from North Miami Senior High. Kim married Ramon Quijano on February 26, 1977 in North Miami. Kim was an avid dancer and enjoyed performing many different genres, including jazz, hip hop, and ballroom dancing. However, her greatest pride and joy was being a mother to her four incredible children, and grandmother to her four vivacious grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake, and often prepared wonderful meals and treats for her family. She treasured her grandchildren and found it delightful engaging with them doing arts and crafts or playing with them in the pool. She loved going to Disney with the family and loved having a magical time with her grandkids.
Kim is preceded in death by her mother, Natalie, and her older brother, John.
Kim is survived by the love of her life, Ramon, her soul mate and husband of 47 years; children Trina and husband Dujon Chang, Tiffany Quijano, Priscilla and husband Mitchell Amador, and Matthew Quijano; brother Jim “Doc” Fortnash and wife Melanie Fortnash and sister Kathy Fortnash; father John Fortnash and wife Dolores; and grandchildren Madeleine, Emma, Dominic, and Teo.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Dignity Memorial, 2401 Davie Road, Davie, FL 33317.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Dignity Memorial, 2401 Davie Rd., Davie, FL 33317 with the chaplain James T. Bass officiating. Burial will follow at Dignity Memorial.
Kim’s family is wholeheartedly grateful for all your cards, prayers, encouragement, and support over the years. Your caring, kindness, and thoughtfulness was a source of strength and joy not only to Kim, also to her family.
