Krsto Kolega was born on March 5, 1931 in Kali, Zadar Yugoslavia (Croatia Today.) He came from a family tradition of fishing and studied boat building. He married his soul-mate Bozica (Natalie) Cugliani on November 15th, 1955 by the state and four days later by the church. They moved to the United States in 1961. Krsto learned house carpentry and built his first home in Selden, NY on Long Island. Krsto and Natalie later moved to Florida in the mid 1970’s with their only child Randall. He designed and built his home in 1978. He worked for Fort Lauderdale Marinas for 25 years. His wife Natalie died in 2004, the same year his son married Rebecca and had his first child, a daughter Megan Natalia. His second grandchild Christopher was born in 2008.
Krsto was an exceptionally strong, kind, and optimistic man. He loved all people and would help anyone and everyone he could. He taught his son to love God, church, and family. He made friends easily and is also survived by his sister Ruza. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Milo and Tina.
