Mr. Lindell was a humble person,  very generous, dedicated father and a great husband. As a child growing up in Reids Pen, I always have the uttermost respect for Mr. Lindell. May his soul rest in perfect peace 


Lindel was a dear friend a good neighbor , i didn’t realize you were cousin until when my mom visit me from Manchester and recognize him . After I let to Canada and Linden come visit us , he was such a humble giant ,  A doctor friend of ours hired Linden to do some painting at there house and they just  love the ways he do this and how humble he was that all there friend hired him also. After go back to Jamaica they would ask for him all the time and when is he coming back.
If Lindel  come from work before us he would cook and clean up .
Lindel tough my husband karate, my daughter was 2 and she would be doing karate too.
We visited Lindel and Monica at there lovely home in Fort Lauderdale twice,  we have such a great time stay there we go out for dinner go to the beaches and the casino. Wow such a good time.
Lindel my cuz you will be missed , i’m trying to wake up from the dream I can’t believe you’re gone so soon..


I remember how dedicated he was to his hobby, work and more importantly his family. I learned to be humble and appreciative of life from watching him in his disciplin as a Black belt in karate. Always invited me over to watch a great king fu movie and to try some his great cooking. You'll be missed.

I remember Uncle Lindel as a peaceful and loving relative who  was a quiet giant. The last time I saw him in 2017, I never knew it would be my last. I am comforted in knowing you are resting in peace. Sleep on Uncle. Love you.

You put everyone first and always put yourself last. 
 A true character of a man after God's own heart. A man of integrity a disciplinarian. 
You were kind, considerate and treat everyone as if they your own.

My dear uncle Lindel

Uncle Lindel was a idol, when I was young I used to love Kung Fu movies and the culture, to find out I had had a uncle in the USA that was a Master, that Rocked my world I was so happy and couldn't wait to meet him. 

At the age of 7 the dream happened, it was brief as I spent some of the time in New York.   But I on my last night of Florida uncle  or should say Grand-Master gave me and my sister Shazeina some fighting lessons and words of wisdom. 

I have meet uncle few more times as a teen and have so  much more amazing memories but that moment will be forever my most cherished memory in life.

You will be truly missed and forever remain in my heart. He was a free spirit, strong and loving man many traits that I see ran in the family and words can't explain how much he will be missed.

I remember Mr. Lindel as a strong martial arts person. I always thought  his karate moves were amazing. If I remember correctly he also used a Nunchuck sometimes.  I used to stand and watch in amazement of  his skills.  
It is very sad to know that Mr. Lindel has passed  away. Ms. Monica, Warren, Karen (Debbie) and Delesha, I pray that God will bring comfort to your hearts. You are a special family and my childhood neighbours for whom I will always have a special place in my heart. Love always and stay strong.

Gone too soon 

When we were children dad would call all of us to speak to you on the phone, he would say "Come and speak to your brother". We would all run to see who could get to the phone first. Every conversation you would give us words of encouragement. We were so fortunate to have a big brother that was caring, gentle and so humble. 

Although we lived so far away you were never far away from our thoughts. We loved you from a distance. You are our eldest brother, always have been and always will be. One day we will all speak again and embrace with love in our hearts.

I write these lines with great sadness on behalf of our dad,  Alvin Bent. 

Lindel is the eldest of his children. Lindel was loved dearly and spoken about so fondly by dad. Throughout the years dad and Lindel would call each other and exchange greeting cards and letters. Contact was lost for a while but by the Grace of God we resumed contact last year. It was an emotional moment for all, dad was overwhelmed to hear his son's voice, it was such a special moment, one I will never forget. It was as if they had never been apart. Since that day we had stayed in contact. The news of Lindel's passing has come as a great shock to us all. Lindel will always be remembered.

I met Lindel in New Milns, Hanover, Jamaica West Indies as a young man, and through my friend Monica. Lindel was a humble and respectable individual. My sincere condolences to his family, his wife Monica and Warren,the only child I know, the other children. His mom and sisters,.God is able to do the impossible and cover and comfort you in this time of bereavement. You are all in my prayers. Rest in peace Lindel 

I met uncle Lindel approximately 10 years ago through my friend and co-worker Mario Haughton. My fiance , Luisana met uncle Lindel approximately 1  1/2 ago. We both have very fond  memories of uncle Lindel . He was a very gentle man, kind and compassionate. Uncle Lindel loved his family very much. We know he is in a better place. May Uncle Lindel rest in  peace. Our deepest regards for his wife aunt Monica, his children and all the family. Our prayers are with the family. God Bless.

Uncle Lindel was an incredible man with the ❤ of a lion and the tenderness of a saint. He was always posed to enlightened you with knowledge  on various challenges in life.  He would share personal life stories to encourage, assure decisions or validate choices being made. I will forever be grateful 🙏.

I've known the entire family all my life and took some of my life lessons from their union as man and wife. My heart goes out to the family especially miss monica whom i know was his rock.          Father Bent your are sadly missed and will be so for very long time. Uncle Lindel was the most caring, loving and welcoming person I know, he was patient and kind and full of energy. He taught me some great self defence skills and always spoke words of wisdom. I  remember going to Florida at the age of 5 and I spent my 6th Birthday there, it was a holiday I would never forget. During my early teens I was fortunate enough to visit Florida again and was able to create more memories, I just wished that I had more time to create more memorable moments with him. You are missed dearly and you will never be forgotten, I love you so much❤ 

I miss you so much my brother. I'm so glad that we video linked on WhatsApp prior to your passing. You are such a loving , caring , respectful and ambitious brother. The world is missing out on a Legend. You are in a better place. Live you ❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘 so much ❤️😘 Lindel Sylvester Bent.

He is survived by wife Monica Bent and three children: Warren Bent, Karen Bent Heeralal (Earl Timothy Heeralal), Delesha Bent.


He is also survived by mother Eugenie Allen Fraser and father Alvin Bent.


Grandchildren Earl Heeralal Jr., Timoy Heeralal, Warren Bent Jr., Nalani-Rose Monica Miller.
His sisters Celine, Nina. Maria, Rose, Deborah and brothers, Paul, Mark, Simon are also mourning is passing.
Sister-in-laws June, Dorreth, Cythnia, Sheron, Paulette and brother-in-laws Clifford, Allan, Kenrick and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who he loved dearly.
