

Margarita R. Gencev, age 71, of Fort Lauderdale, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, in Holy Cross Health. At the time of her passing she was in the hearts and minds of those she loved the most.
Margarita lived a fulfilling life with many accomplishments. She was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. She studied at the University in Komi, Russia to become a school teacher specializing in Mathematics grades 9-12. She enjoyed teaching and loved her students very much. She spoke three languages, English, Bulgarian, Russian. She was skilled in drawing and known for her beautiful handwriting. She was very creative in scrapbooking, preserving important moments in time.
At the age of 31, she met and married Milcho Gencev who brought her to the United States. This is when she moved to Sunnyvale, California. They have been happily married for 40 years. After living 40 years in their first home together in Sunnyvale, they sold it and recently moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL to be closer to their children and grandchild.
In the US, Margarita worked as a certified Gemologist working for several well-known jewelry stores. She was often #1 in sales and the hardest and most loyal worker there was. If she wasn’t working, she was cooking or gardening. She also loved taking group fitness classes at the local gym.
Margarita left a sweet impression on the people she met. She was a good, generous, kind person with an understanding and tender character. She was the most loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend who will always be remembered.
Margarita battled diabetes and congestive heart failure which put her in the hospital several times. She is now free of pain and may God Bless her loving soul. Heaven gained an angel. Beloved mother, you made a lasting impression and you will truly be missed. We love you so much!
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Milcho, their son, Richard, his wife Merilene, their daughter, Michelle, her husband Toly and one grandson, Genadi. And by her extended family in Bulgaria and best friends in Russia.
Family meant everything to Margarita. She prayed often for health and wellness, please say a prayer of remembrance and of healing for Margarita's family during this difficult time.
