

Maria Angelica was born to Justina Alarcón-Atauje and Eleazar Alarcón-Ortiz on July 31, 1932. She went to school in Perú, and was the first in the family to come to the United States in 1959, where she opened the doors for all her siblings and family to migrate to the US. She worked over 42 years as an EKG technician (Miami Heart Institute), pharmaceutical assistant (Sheldon Drugs), and airline flight associate (American Airlines and Miami International Airport). She was involved in various churches (St. Patrick’s, St. Francis, and St. Maximilian-Kolbe) and the Legion of Mary and various Emmaus retreats. She was devoted to El Señor de Los Milagros.
Maria Angelica is preceded in death by her brother Sergio Alarcón, her sister Irma Laura, her mother Justina Atauje, and her father Eleazar Alarcón.
Maria Angelica is survived by her siblings Eleazar Alarcón, Felix U. Alarcón, Rosa J. Liber, Ines Salas, Juana L. Libou, and D. Marina Sadow, and her nieces and nephews Liza L. Liber, Elsa Saenz, Rocio Jibaja, Liliana Luque, Mary Rivera, Clara Alarcón, Maria J. Alarcón, Julio C. Alarcón, Juan P. Alarcón, Diane M. Alarcón, Eleazar Alarcón Jr, Jason Alarcón, Techi Thompson, Felix J. Alarcon, Yuni I. Salas, Felipe Salas Jr, Martin B. Ordoñez, Manny A. Ordoñez, Andrew M. Sadow, and Elyse J. Schrandt.
Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens at 2401 SW 64th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. Mass services will be held at 2pm at Forest Lawn, with the burial following thereafter.
