Marie Lourdes Jean-Baptiste, was born on August 26, 1946 in Haiti to the late Therese Jean-Baptiste and Max Laurencau. She passed on January 24, 2015 at Florida Medical Center due to her illness. Marie Lourdes was married to her first husband Jacob Innocent on September 2, 1967. Marie Lourdes moved to the United States in 1973. She worked at Summit Park in Pomona, NY as a CNA.
Known to many as Mami Lourdes, one of her passions was doing hair, after receiving her Cosmetology license. Marie Lourdes was a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a friend to all that approached her. She was the ‘life’ of the party, elegant and loved shopping. Having a goodtime, and making people happy gave her GREAT joy. Everyone who knew her loved her.
Marie Lourdes is survived by her partner Dieudonne Toussaint, her son Abdel Innocent (Nadege), her two daughters Gairlynn Innocent-Irizarry (David) and Daphne Toussaint, her brothers Jean Max Laurencau, Lionel Laurencau, Serge Laurencau, her sister Marie Joe Laurencau, and her eight grand-children Bianchie Rene, Dherliona Rene, Wesley Charles, Abriana Innocent, Savannah Innocent, Davina Irizarry, Joshua Irizarry and Ariana Irizarry, which were the light of her eyes.
