Max was born on 7 February, 1976 in Nassau, Bahamas to the lovely parents of Patricia Rolle (mother) and Arlington McKinney (father). At age 6 Max and her mother relocated to the United States and took residency in Miami, Florida. Max always had high aspirations and after completing American Senior high school she enrolled in Northeastern University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Max had such a passion for beauty and obtained a certification and license in esthetician. If you ever had the pleasure to engage in a conversation with Max about skin and hair her eyes would get wide with excitement and that famous smile would appear on her face. Oh boy be prepared to be educated, be prepared to be taught. She would suggest moisturizers and cleansers, shampoo and conditioners. She could talk for hours about the topic. Even if you didn’t ask her a question she would sometimes, say did you know that… and then out comes her laptop to show you the information that she had research. Loving, brilliant, and knowledgeable that was Max.
Max was an ambitious entrepreneur and always talked about owning a business. This was her dream, her goal and she had often talked about it to relatives. After years of exploring her options November, 2013 she opened her nail salon “Shabby 2 Chic.” Max dreams had become a reality and now she sleeps.
Maxia is survived by her mother Patricia Rolle, father Arlington McKinney, one brother Gustavo Sealy Jr., two sisters May-Ling McKinney, Tahirah Sealy, god-mother Sylvia Hamilton, step-father Gustavo Sealy, Sr., grand-aunts: Hortence Glinton, Myrtis Forbes, aunts: Penny McKinney, Joann McKinney-Campbell, Eunice Rolle, Shelia Rolle, Mabel Williams, Leonie Lockhart, Ivy Poitier, Anna Bethell, Mildred Hamilton, Donna Hamilton, uncles: Tony McKinney, Andre McKinney, Danny McKinney, Oliver Hamilton, mentor: Rev. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
She will always be in our hearts. Rest in peace Max we love you.
