Mercedes Y. Gardner passed away on April 7, 2026 at the age of 101. She was born October 19, 1924. During WWII, she worked as a legal secretary for the US Government in Washington, DC. She married A. Dudley Gardner on June 19, 1948 and they later moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She loved traveling, gardening, especially her orchids, crafts and dancing. She is survived by her children Sheryl Fisher, Gail McCauley (Stephen), William Gardner (LIcett), 2 grandchildren Daniel McCauley (Torrey) and Andrew McCauley (Ione) and 3 great grandchildren Liam, Quinn and Bran McCauley.
A memorial service will be held on April 26, 2026 from 1-4 pm at Fred Hunters Funeral Home at 718 S. Federal Highway, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316.
