Naomi Veronica Ulett, the beloved daughter of Mildred and Clarence, was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica through a home birth on February 28, 1949. She peacefully departed this life on February 22, 2025, and went to be with Jesus, surrounded by her loving family.
Naomi met the love of her life, John Ulett, when she was 19 years old, and they were united in marriage on July 29, 1972, when she was 23 years old. Their union was blessed with three children, Dane, Janice, and Daton. Their love story was filled with making memories and cherished moments with friends and family. Their love for each other was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Naomi received her education at Tower Hill Primary School in Jamaica, completing her studies through high school. She began her professional journey working at post offices in Reading and Granville, before moving to the United States in search of better opportunities for her family. In the US, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and retired around the age of 52 to focus on being a supportive mother and grandmother to her four granddaughters, Sabrina, Caitlin, Tristen, and Ryenne.
Naomi was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Tower Hill Baptist Church, Ives Dairy Road Baptist Church, and Sheridan Hills Baptist Church while raising a faith-filled household. Throughout her life, her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was her foundation and strength.
Naomi leaves behind her husband of 52 years, John; her children Dane, Janice, and Daton; her daughters-in-law, Tina and Anna; her son-in-law, Kirk; former son-in-law, Garth; her granddaughters, Sabrina, Caitlin, Tristen, and Ryenne; and her survived siblings, Sybil, Aston, Rose, Christiana, Carolee, and Irene. She was preceded in death by her siblings Wyeth, Sewell, and Beverly. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that cherished her so deeply.
Naomi’s legacy of love, resilience, faith, and joy will continue to live on through all who knew her. She will be terribly missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing that she left this world far better than she found it—through her children, her grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, her faith, and her love.
