Philip Bickford Rand

Philip Bickford Rand, 80, of Pompano Beach, FL, passed into eternity after a brief illness on June 18, 2021. Son of the late Kirkham and Edna (Bickford) Rand of Wellesley, MA, Mr. Rand leaves behind John Dowd, his partner of 47 years, as well as a large circle of close friends and extended family both here & abroad.

A faithful congregant & vestry member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, Pompano Beach, FL, Mr. Rand was a retired Certified Public Accountant with a Masters in Business Administration from the Babson Institute (College), Babson Park, MA. He held numerous civic and private offices during his long career including: President & Lifetime Member of the Cambridge Area Jaycees, Chief of Staff for the Town of Wellesley, MA, and Member of the Massachusetts CPA Society. Mr. Rand was a proud US Army Veteran (1963-68) & a distinguished member of the American Legion (Wellesley Post #72). Phil was an avid baker, cook & connoisseur of fine adult beverages, enjoying conviviality with friends - including his brother members of Fort Lauderdale Prime Gentlemen.

A public celebration of Philip’s life will be held on Friday, July 16 from 3-5 p.m. at Broward Burial & Cremation, 1801 E Oakland Park Blvd, Fort Lauderdale 33306 In leu of flowers, donations in his memory should be made to the American Lung Association or National Foundation for Cancer Research. A private inurnment service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley, MA at a future date.
