Ray is survived by his daughter, Jennifer King Forshey (Mike) and his son Raymond W. King III. Both of Pembroke Pines, Florida; His brother Arthur from Kissimmee, Florida; and his sisters Marilyn Armstrong (George) of Souderton Pennsylvania and Connie King of Haddonfield New Jersey.
He is preceded in death by Gisele, his wife of 64 years; His father Raymond Sr. and mother Nellie Mae of Laurel Springs, New Jersey; His brother Brian of Berlin, New Jersey and sister Patricia Mae Eitting (Steve) of Boynton Beach, Florida.
A true Patriot, Ray served 20 years in the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War and the Berlin Airlift, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Upon re-entering civilian life in 1969, he accepted a position at Eastern Airlines as a Systems Analyst. In 1986 Eastern was sold to Texas Air. Eventually, the airline made massive job cuts and in 1989, Ray’s position with the airline was eliminated and Eastern Airlines was eventually liquidated. Ray then accepted a position with Arby’s Corporate Offices until his official retirement in 1992.
Ray’s main focus in life was to protect and provide for his family and arrange for their future. His bear hugs, sense of humor and wit will be missed as he was always quick to make someone, anyone laugh. Even complete strangers. He was also an avid coin and stamp collector.
Services will be held Thursday December 3rd at 2:00 pm. It will be an outdoor graveside service with full Military Honors at Forest Lawn in Davie.
