After finishing high school, Soilise attended one of the most prestigious nursing schools in Haiti named Simone Ovide Duvalier. Around this time, she met and eventually married Salmice Alcime on April 23, 1981—after courting for 8 years. Salmice and Soilise were married for a total of 37 years and had 4 children together before her passing on September 25, 2018.
In 1983, almost a year after their first born son was born, Salmice and Soilise moved to the United States, where Soilise continued her schooling in nursing at Broward Community College and McFatter Technical School. She graduated as an LPN and later on as an RN. Soilise was very passionate about the nursing industry and encouraged dozens—if not hundreds of friends, family, and church members—to pursue a career in the medical field. In total, Soilise worked in nursing for over 35 years and most recently, worked at VITAS Healthcare as a Hospice Nurse.
Soilise also co-founded a church with her husband in 1986—originally called Eglise Maranatha and eventually the Tabernacle of the Gospel in Action (TGA). Soilise loved this church with all of her heart and gave years of her life, service, and resources to seeing the people of TGA prosper.
A woman of prayer and service to God, she would often be the first person on the telephone prayer line each morning, interceding for her family & church members while also exhorting parishioners to stand firm in their faith.
A wife, a sister, and most notably, a mother to many—Soilise Alcime took more people under her wings than can be counted. Though she only gave birth to 4 children—a son and 3 daughters—Soilise also adopted and raised the Ternival children as her own.
