Virginia Louise Fischer Terranova

Virginia passed away peacefully on July 7, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born on November 13, 1924, in Elberfeld, Indiana. She relocated to Florida after WWII and was employed by Terranova Realty in Hollywood. There she would meet her husband, Michael, whom she was married to for over 60 years. Virginia was a devoted and loving wife and mother to 5 children. Ultimately she became the business/office manager for Terranova Realty and assisted in the acquisition and sales of many commercial and residential developments existing today throughout the tri-county area.

Virginia was not only an adoring wife, loving mother and wise business woman, she was exceptionally imaginative and creative which was demonstrated by the countless items she would craft for her family and friends. She was also an avid sports enthusiast and cheered on the Indiana Hoosiers, Miami Heat and regularly attended Miami Dolphins’ games for many years as a season ticket holder until 2009.

The family would like to express their eternal appreciation and gratitude to Ava Beadle, Joyce Wright-Garner and Donna Frank who’s unending love, care and compassion helped Virginia on a daily basis. The Family would also like to especially thank Roslyn Cipriano and her entire staff at RMC Consultants, as well as the outstanding teams at Caregivers of America and Covenant Village of Florida for all their support, care and efforts.

Virginia is survived by her loving children, Pamela S. Terranova, Gerald C. Terranova, Jacqueline Zaborowski (Michael) and Victoria Chergoski (Michael) who will love and miss her forever. She is also survived by her loving sister, Marge Ison, 2 nieces, 4 nephews, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Michael N. Terranova, her loving relatives, parents Selma and Wilburn Fischer, brother-in-law David Ison and her son Michael Nicholas Terranova, Jr.

A memorial service in Virginia’s memory will be held at Forest Lawn South, Davie, Florida on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Broward County Humane Society, 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312 (www.humanebroward.com).
