

Wanda Fay Fisher was a modest woman. She was both quiet and reserved and trustworthy and traditional. Her approach to life and in her relationships was always sincere and honorable. She was tough-minded and fair and earned the respect of all who knew her. She was also a woman who knew God and accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour.Wanda was born in Kentucky, but raised in Daytona Beach, Florida. Her parents were Robert and Ethel Hadden and she had one brother, Gene. Gene was the ultimate big brother as they lost both of their parents at a very young age, leaving Wanda’s Grandmother, Stella Combs, to raise her.Wanda met her husband, Dave, married young and immediately started a family in Indianapolis. Compassionate and devoted to Dave, Wanda held endearing, traditional values about marriage and family life. She took the responsibility of marriage to heart, giving it her total commitment. They were married fifty-one years before Dave passed. Wanda was a constant source of strength and stability to Dave and he was her everything. Wanda worked hard to make her family happy. She brought the same traditional values in her marriage to bear on how she raised her children. After relocating back to Florida, Wanda raised her children to know responsibility and loyalty. She was a good parent to them, always firm yet fair in her dealings. Commitment is a key word that can be used to describe the life of Wanda Fay Fisher. She was committed to her family and to her Lord. Wanda was blessed with three children; one son, David, and two daughters, Summer and Sharon. She was also blessed with nine grandchildren; Matt, Andy, Jason, Daniel, Amber, Charles, Billy, Katie and Josie and two great-grand children; Jack and Lucy.Wanda was an active member of the ladies golf club at Pine Island Ridge Country Club. She cherished her days of golf with the ladies and won many tournaments. Golf was her passion, but her family was her life. She is survived by her children David (Ruby Anne), Summer (Sam) and Sharon (Michael), her brother Gene, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services were held at Forest Lawn Chapel, Saturday, August 29th, 2009. Wanda was laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
