Rodney was born in Michigan, but he was raised in San Marcos, CA. He was brought up on a ranch and loved the country life. It's hard to think of San Marcos as country now, but it was back then when he was growing up. He was a rascal during school days and kept on that way during his life. He was a very happy person even though he suffered a lot of hardships in his life time. Not much got him down. That was inspiring. He loved Harleys NASCAR, Football and especially fishing. He was always trying to get someone to come out an go fishin' with him from CA. He didn't have much success, so he went by himself and had a blast.
He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather. He has 3 siblings: 2 sisters, Sylvia, who lives in Colorado. Shelly, who lives in Illinois, and one brother, Loren, who lives in California. He has 2 children: Todd, who lives in California and Kimberly, who lives in Idaho and 2 grandchildren: Baelin, who lives in California and Aislynne, who lives in Idaho. And I just found this out, but he is about to become a great grandfather also.
He was a great animal lover and is preceded in death by his 2 dogs Shyla and Shelby and left behind his 2 cats, Pepper and Gracie who miss him terribly. Rod also leaves behind his wife and companion of 32 years who deeply misses him and remains his biggest fan. He made me laugh. We had a good time together even though at times I could have choked him, he still made me laugh. We had a good understanding of each other and that, I will miss. His absence has left a big hole. He will be greatly missed.
