Audrey Carole Hayward

Audrey C. Hayward, 95, of Fort Myers passed away Friday July 25, 2025. She was born and raised in Chicago. She was her class valedictorian, President of Girl’s Athletic Association, Chaplin of her Chapter of Jobs daughters, and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. She took flying lessons as a teen. She attended Northwestern University nursing school earning her RN. She met and then married Harold Hayward, and they were married for 68 years. She worked as a nurse on and off and eventually volunteered her services in the emergency room in Arlington Heights once a week. When they moved to Fort Myers, she volunteered in the birthing suites at Lee Memorial Health Park. She was involved in many groups, including 2 bridge groups, a bowling league, a lady’s golf group, and served as a Deacon at her church. She was a member of the Royal Palm Yacht club, Cypress Lake Country Club, Town and River Cruise Club and lee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children Terri Bergmann and Steven Hayward (Kathy), grandchildren Aaron Jones, Stephanie Hayward, Haley Hayward, Ariana Arnemann (Jeremy), Jordan Bergmann, and Great Grandchild Braxton Arnemann. She is also survived by her sister Joane Diebold. Her Husband Harold and Daughter Patricia Gordin preceded her in death.

A memorial service for Audrey will be held at Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 23rd at 10:00 AM
