

Cal was born in Leesburg, VA on February 12, 1950. He was always proud of his country boy upbringing. He attended Louden County Schools and then went proudly to serve his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Germany in the missile defense program. He returned to Virginia and managed McDonald's restaurants for a few years. Then he vacationed in Sanibel, Florida and moved there permanently in 1976. Cal started working at Island Beach Club as a pool cleaner and then as manager for the next 39 years. Cal was a humble person who was kind to everyone. He never spoke badly about anyone even when provoked and he was always willing and able to lend a helping hand. He is survived by two sons, Calvin and Shad and grandson, Shad, two brothers, James and Charlie and a huge amount of friends who loved him dearly. He spent the last fourteen years with his loving companion, Diane Pulliam who considers those years a gift from God.A celebration of his colorful life will be Saturday, January 10th at 11:00 A.M. at Hodges Kiser Funeral Home, 9231 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
