Donald Earl Collins

Donald Earl Collins age 97, of Lehigh Acres, FL passed away on March 29, 2017. Donald proudly served in the US Army during WWII in Eastern Theater Operation and South Pacific as 1st Lt. where he met his wife, Mandy (1st Lt. Army Nurse) in the Philippines. He operated the third generation family farm in Honeoye Falls, NY until 1969. He went to work for Eastman Kodak and retired in 1980. After retiring he and his wife spent summers in Chaffey Locks Ontario, Canada where he was an avid fisherman.

Donald is preceded by his parents, Earl and Ruth Collins; his sister, Wynonia Collins Trueblood and her husband Dr. Lyle Trueblood; and daughter, Deborah Jean Collins Nowack. He is survived by his wife, Mandy (Josephine) Collins; children, Donald (Connie) L. Collins, Dale E. Collins, and Diane (Bo) Collins; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; nephews, Stephen and Michael Trueblood as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, 2514 Lee Blvd, Lehigh Acres, FL 33971 on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 11AM. A reception will follow at American Legion Post 323, 1124 Ashlar Ave, Lehigh Acres, FL 33936. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Donald’s honor to Operations Open Arms, P.O.
