

Francis (Frank) Sheme, age 69, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on November 3, 2014 after a long hard fight with lymphoma. He and his wife, Linda have been residents of Fort Myers since Frank’s retirement in 2004.
Born August 18, 1945 in Joplin, Missouri to parents, Frank and Mary Sheme he moved to Madisonville, Kentucky where he spent his childhood years and graduated from Madisonville High School. He graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 1967 and after graduation served in the US Army as a First Lieutenant and Troop Commander in Germany.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Linda; children, Tracy (Ken) Skladanowski and Mark (Debra) Sheme; stepchildren, Frank (Marypat) Marcoccio and Nicole (David) Rahm; and grandchildren, CJ, Ava, Mark, Trish, Dominick, Cade, Cole, and Coco.
After discharge from the Army, he began his career at Eastman Chemical Co. as a Chemist and worked in the lab before entering the sales and marketing force with Eastman. He retired after 30 plus years with Eastman as an Corporate Account Director.
He and his wife, Linda, moved to Colonial Country Club in Fort Myers in 2004 and enjoyed a wonderful retirement with many great friends. He enjoyed golfing in his retirement years and also had a variety of other interests like sailing, skiing, reading, home projects. He lived life to the fullest and made every day count.
A Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 S.R. 82, Ft. Myers, FL 33913 on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 5:30PM till 8:30PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Ln, Ft. Myers, FL 33912 on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 9:30AM. Burial will be at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 3-5PM at Colonial Country Club Clubhouse.
