(Jay) Gerald L. Trapnell Jr. age 54, passed away on Friday July 3, 2015 at his home. Jay was born on March 12, 1961 in Tampa, Florida. Jay was the third generation owner of Sunman’s Nursery on McGregor Boulevard.
He is survived by his mother Linda Trapnell, brother Jeff Trapnell, his sister Jessica Wolter, and Harmony Foster who he raised as a daughter, along with 12 nieces and nephews.
Jay was a generous man who devoted many years to Little League. Jay donated his time and gave gifts to all friends in their time of need. During his time off Jay loved to play golf and fish, and of course, he was one of the biggest and most faithful fans of the Miami Hurricanes. Jay was a wonderful man who will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Rd 82, Fort Myers, Florida 33913 on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am at the funeral home. Jay's services will be informal as the family will wear Hurricane attire; please join us in orange if you'd like.
