

Geraldine "Gerry" Christine Fischer, 69, passed away peacefully at home on February 1st, 2017 in Fort Myers, Florida. She was born in Staten Island, New York in 1947. She grew up in Staten Island and attended Saint Joseph Hill Academy where she became a devout Catholic and after graduation she entered the convent as a nun, "Sister Mary Edwardine". Gerry went on to get her degree in education and taught at Saint Mary's Academy for a number of years before becoming a bus driver for Wall Township Board of Education in New Jersey. Gerry retired in 2012 to be with her children in Florida. She loved driving, the color purple, and had a passion for animals.
Gerry is survived by her mother, Josephine Ann Fischer (Percoco); her brother, Deacon Edward and his wife Jackie Fischer; 4 children, Keith and his wife Yvonne Pischeda of Orlando, FL; Tracy Ann and her husband William Kemp; Sean Pischeda and his fiance John Kabella of Fort Myers, FL; Robert Paul Pischeda II of Cape Coral, FL; 8 grandchildren, Beth, Jenna, Kelly, Teddy, Katie, Michael, Lenny, and Nicole. Gerry was preceaded in death by her father, Edward Joseph Fischer.
A Memorial Service/Gathering will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park (12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913) on Saturday, February 4th, 2017 from 4:30pm-6:30pm.
