Harold "Whitey" Doidge

Harold “Whitey” Doidge, 88, of Melbourne, Florida and formerly of Lehigh Acres passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Queens, New York on February 23, 1935.

He was a very proud US Navy veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a volunteer Firefighter where he served as Captain and also gave over 13 years volunteering for Lee County V.O.I.C.E. Whitey ran a successful maintenance business. He was a member of the American Legion and was an avid dog lover and golfer.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna M. Doidge, and his parents, Harold R. and Mary (nee Powalski) Doidge. Whitey is survived by his children: John Doidge and Mary (Ron) Rosenberg; grandchildren: Josh (Erin) Rosenberg, Jamie (Eric) Schepp, Rebecca Doidge and Jessica Doidge; great grandchildren: Natalie Seeley, Abrianna Evans, Kate Rosenberg, Anna Rosenberg, Avery Schepp and Julia Schepp; great great grandchildren: Alayna Seeley and Jameson Cooper; niece, Sharon Pozo and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm Thursday, April 13th at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL. The funeral service will be at 11 am Friday, April 14th at The funeral home. Interment will be in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
