

James graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1956 and earned a Bachelor’s in History from Fordham University in 1960. Following his college graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country until his retirement in 1990. In addition to his military service, James enjoyed a long and successful career with Citigroup, retiring in 1999 after 36 years of dedicated service.
The year 1974 was a monumental milestone for James; he earned his MBA, married the love of his life, Rosie, received a promotion in the Army, and relocated to upstate New York. He often described 1974 as the absolute best year of his life.
James was a proud member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of both New York and Florida, Lehigh Acres American Legion Post 323, the Elks Lodge, the Moose Lodge, the Civil Air Patrol, and served as a dedicated Boy Scout leader.
He is survived by his son, James, and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosie; his parents, Mary and Martin Bolla; and his brother, William Bolla.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, June 4th at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, June 5th at St. Raphael Catholic Church 2514 Lee Boulevard, Lehigh Acres, Florida. Interment will follow in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913.
