James J. Leroy Leroy Nelson

James "J. Leroy" Nelson, age 87, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. He was born in Virginia on September 2, 1929 the son of the late Emerson Mason Nelson & the late Mary Elizabeth Showalter. J. Leroy was a proud member of the Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents Emerson & Mary; his wife Clemmie W. Nelson; son Gary L Nelson; and his great grandson Christopher Nelson.

J. Leroy is survived by his children Jeffrey Nelson, Diane (Nelson) Lee, and David Nelson; grandchildren Candis Marie Nelson, Matthew Nelson, Zach Smith, Victor Nelson, LaDonna Rakes, Jeremy Smith, Jennifer Benn, and Kristina Nelson; great grandchildren Tucker Smith, Shawn McNear, Christen Nelson, Nicodemus Nelson, Lydia Nelson, and Theresa Nelson; and sisters Mary E. See, and Ruby Rainey.

Funeral services will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, Florida 33913 on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 with visitation from 10:00-11:00am and the funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00am. Entombment will be private in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
