John Patrick Gala

John was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and an active member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion. His dedication to his country and community was a defining part of his life.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Grace Johnston; daughter, Linda (Jimmy) Matthews; nieces, Debbie Miner and Karen Johnston; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his devoted companion, Sally Blue; and many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Madeline Gala; his wife, Areeta Gala; sisters, Rose Mary Gala, Mary Madeline Grode, and Dorothy Friday; and brothers, Francis, Robert, and William Gala; and stepsons: Richard Stiles and Jimmy Green.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, November 4th, at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, Florida, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.

John will be remembered for his strength, devotion to family, and unwavering love of country. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
